Responsive and Engaged Leadership for District Five on the Garland City Council

As one of the 100 largest cities in the United States, with over 230,000 residents, Garland is one of the most livable and diverse cities in America. It is diverse at the neighborhood level and affordable. District 5 is the economic engine of Garland, providing numerous jobs, and is attractive to good people seeking well-built, affordable housing in diverse, friendly and safe neighborhoods. District 5 needs an advocate for better mobility and thoughtful redevelopment to continue to attract good businesses and residents. I will bring responsive engaged leadership to District 5. I will move to push Garland forward, to improve mobility in the area, and to be responsive to the residents of District 5.

After watching City Council meetings and talking to my neighbors, I felt that our representative was not engaged in matters important to District 5. After watching me stand up for the District before the City Council on development issues, frustrated residents saw me as a passionate and effective fighter, approached me and asked me to help. I decided to run for City Council at their encouragement. I believe that District 5 deserves better – be it roads, retail or representation – and I am committed to making that happen.
